About the Journal

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Food Studies (ISSN 2791-6960, e-ISSN 2792-0259) is a multidisciplinary academic scientific journal published twice a year.

The journal publishes scientific studies that pass at least two blind referees and editorial evaluation processes. The journal publishes original research and review articles. In addition, it can publish articles such as short notes, book reviews, short articles, technical notes, scientific opinions, case reports, and letters to the editor. It can also publish movie and documentary criticisms that are handled within a scientific framework.

The main focus of the journal is to bring interdisciplinary research to the forefront by synthesizing the science and engineering issues of food with social science disciplines in the developing and changing world.

Compliance with ethical principles and scientific attitudes is essential. In addition, emphasis is placed on coherence writing style as explained in the author guides, compliance with scientific research method techniques, originality, usefulness, scientificity, objectivity, and conflict of interest. It is expected that the studies will be at a level that will attract the attention of national and international researchers.

The journal accepts articles in Turkish and English. For Turkish articles, the author(s) needs to supply English translations of the title, abstract, and keywords.

Our journal has committed to comply with the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals prepared by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

The journal publication process consists of at least two blind referees and editorial evaluations for research and review articles. It is essential that the studies are conducted in accordance with ethical and scientific principles. The journal aims to finalize its evaluation processes as soon as possible without compromising scientific practices. 

The journal offers its publications open access in order to facilitate and popularize access to science. The journal signed the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). It does not charge any fee from the authors during the evaluation and publication stages.

The aim of the journal is to publish articles that will reveal the interaction of food with different disciplines with empirical studies.

The journal studies the interaction of food and different disciplines. Without being limited to this scope, the relationship of food with the economy, culture, history, geography, management, religion, education, health, nutrition, politics, and law is examined. The relationship of historical cases that will solve current problems with food, studies on national and international organizations related to food, food presentation in tourism, and gastronomy are within the scope of the journal.
